The Intelligence Maintenance Systems Network is a platform to foster discussion and experience sharing in the field of industrial system maintenance. It aims at facilitating knowledge transfer between its stakeholders, and, in particular, to connect the methodological aspects developed in academia with the challenges faced specifically by the industry.

With the ubiquity of data collection, thanks to cheaper sensors and easier storage solutions, both the number of data-driven approaches and their possible applications are growing exponentially. Consequently, it is extremely challenging to maintain an up-to-date overview of the current state of the art, and to develop the right skills for the implementation of the latest developments, especially when stemming from other fields.

The Intelligence Maintenance Systems Network relies on a strongly connected network of experts, both from industry and from the academic world, to maintain up-to-date knowledge on data-driven methodologies and on their successful or potential applications to the field of intelligent maintenance.

To this end, the IMS Network organizes regular workshops and invites renowned successful guests with varied backgrounds and diverse experiences, with the three following missions:

  1. To share experience in applying data-driven approaches to predictive maintenance problems.
Regularly, workshops focuses in case study presentation and success story telling.
  2. To facilitate the transfer of recent research results to industrial applications:
The IMS network gathers companies at the forefront of innovation and academics deeply involved in developing new approaches.
  3. To ensure knowledge transfer between different application fields.
Regularly, renowned guests whose experience has strong potential for the Intelligent Maintenance field are invited to share their work and to discuss them with the community.

The strength of the IMS Networks, with its diverse community gathering, among others, manufacturers, operators, service companies and academic, lies in the involvement of all the stakeholders. Workshops are framed around some major challenges of the field, to initiate discussions transcending the themes of individual workshops. Such long-term interactions strengthen the relationships within the community and bring the core benefits.
