Intelligent Maintenance Conference 2020

The Chair of Intelligence maintenance Systems organized for the fourth edition of the Smart Maintenance Conference, renamed at the occasion Intelligent Maintenance Conference 2020 .

Despite the difficult sanitary situation, the Chair decided to proceed with the organization and opted for a 100% online event.
Moving the conference online brought many opportunities such as the participation of renown speakers from all around the world including Australia (Prof. Melinda Hodkiewicz and Dr. Débora Corrêa from the University of Western Australia), and the USA, with a keynote on the future of Prognostics for Systems Health Management presented by Dr. Chetan Kulkarni from NASA Ames.
In addition, the two tracks could be spread over two full days, allowing all participant that wished to, to attend all presentations. This year, we also introduced discussion opportunities at the end of each session where participants could ask questions to all authors and start broader discussion with the community. Last, speed-networking events replaced the traditional random encounters at the coffee machine and were positively perceived by the participants, once the technical issues resolved!

Overall, the attendance, the positive feedbacks and the quality of the exchanges confirmed the interest for the event in the community and are strong motivators to overcome the challenges met when organizing such large events in these times.
