At our Expert Group Meeting on Predictive Maintenance, we were honored to have Philipp Wenk from SBB CFF FFS and Johannes Manser from Axpo Group share their valuable expertise and insights in Digitalization! Thank you for your great talks and thanks to everyone for attending!
Did you know that SBB CFF FFS is the largest energy prosumer in Switzerland? With an annual production of 2157 GWh (90% of which are from renewable energy), the amount of energy SBB CFF FFS produces and consumes is comparable to the energy consumption of the entire city of Zurich!

In 2019, SBB CFF FFS launched the "Digital Power Plant" project with the aim of developing and testing innovations with the main focus in:
- Virtual management of decentralized assets
- Building information modeling
- Work and field force support
- Digital assets management

In 2 years, over 27 innovative PoC projects were launched and demonstrated a promising performance gain. The exploration is still ongoing! As Philipp Wenk said, "innovation is the key", we believe the application of AI will drive digitalization in the industry!

"PredictiveMaintenance for grid infrastructure is a real challenge" --- Johannes Manser
